We light candles and incense and ask our ancestor-mothers
to join us as we prepare for the upcoming birth of Rhonda's little girl.
Rhonda, even though we cannot be with you in person,
we are with you in spirit, both now and as you prepare for your daughter's
upcoming birth.
We have come together in the sisterhood of motherhood,
the sisterhood of pregnancy, and the sisterhood of AlternaMoms.
Little one safely tucked into your mother's womb,
I know you can hear us! We welcome you into this world with open
arms and much love. The journey you are about to begin is not an
easy one, but we are here to support you as you travel on into life.
Rhonda, best wishes for a joyful and safe birth
May you feel the strength of all who have labored
before you
And may you be surrounded by love and warmth as you
and your family
welcome your new daughter.
Love, Tanya.
Rhonda, you've been so helpful to so many women about
to make this
transition. My all the help you've given come
back to you, your daughter to be, your son, and the rest of your family.
Best wishes to you all.

Our Deepest Fear
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens
us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you NOT to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve
the World.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us.
Is is not just in some of us;
it is in everyone.
As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.
~ Marianne Williamson
To Rhonda:
Who has let her Light shine and taught us all so much.
You are one of the
ones whose presence liberates the rest of us. I wish
you many happy
blessings for your family. It's a privilege to know you,
even though it is
'only' in cyberspace. Remember during the birth, that
you 'are powerful
beyond measure.'
Wishing you and your daughter a peaceful journey.
Tamara
Trust your heart... Never deny it a hearing. It is
the kind of house oracle that often foretells the most important.
~ Balthasar Gracian
Blessings, Kimberly.
I feel honored to take a part in your blessingway
Rhonda. May you
and your baby girl know an abundance of love and
peace as you travel this journey together.

As an experienced mother what I want to say is: enjoy
every min that you have with this pregnancy, birth, and life of your little
one. Time flies by all to quickly and she will be gone before you
can turn around twice. You are in my daily prayers and thoughts for your
health and well being. Love Viv
Peaceful and Beautiful
A Newborn Child comes into this world
She stretches and uncurls
Her eyes open wide
Beholding her Mother
Beholding her Father
Willingly taken
Joyfully loved
She is cleansed with warm water
She sleeps for awhile
She wakes with a yawn
Your beautiful baby
All safe and warm......

The Boss Girls
Rhonda, I've been holding my breathe for weeks, hoping
your little one
would stay inside long enough to cook.
It looks like you might get your wish for a big baby now!
And now my hope for you is the birth of your dreams,
whether it is wild,
powerful and ecstatic, or calm, sweet and mild.
Blessed be, my friend.
Shelley
Dear Rhonda...... You have taught me SO much about
birthing in a dignified and safe manner. I am SO glad to have known
you. And now, its wonderful to see that you are about to have a new
baby...... A baby that you deserve, especially after these last few traumatic
months! Think of your new baby daughter (I have tears in my eyes
as I write this) as a reward for all of your hard work. Your wisdom
and knowledge will help you through this wonderful birth! I think
you are a wonderful, strong, awesome woman and I'm glad to have had the
opportunity to know you! Love Jen aka Kashmir3
O sacred season of Autumn, be my teacher,
for I wish to learn the virtue of contentment.
As I gaze upon your full-colored beauty,
I sense all about you
an at-homeness with your amber riches.
........................................
Teach me to take stock of what I have given and received;
may I know that it's enough,
that my striving can cease
in the abundance of God's grace.
May I know the contentment
that allows the totality of my energies
to come to full flower.
May I know that like you I am rich beyond measure.
As you, O Autumn, take pleasure in your great bounty,
let me also take delight
in the abundance of the simple things in life
which are the true source of joy.
With the golden glow of peaceful contentment
may I truly appreciate this autumn day.

May I say first that I am grateful to have the chance
to get to know you
through this community. I wish you and your coming
daughter the grace of a joyful birth. She is blessed to become part of
a family that is so loving. All best wishes and I apologize if the poem
seems a bit of an odd choice... it made me think of you in particular.
Take care.

Feel the love and power sent to you from all of us
and the Creator.

Rhonda I'll be thinking of you this evening and will
do some meditation as well. How lucky I am to be here tonight!

Rhonda,
This is an Sfrican Yoruba Chant that is to this day sung
during
childbirth... It would make an excellent mantra!
The goats have no midwives.
The sheep have no midwives.
When the goat is pregnant she is safely delivered.
When the sheep is pregnant she is safely delivered.
You, in this state of pregnancy, will be safely delivered.
Grunt for me, k?

Why I might have a problem with human cloning
A strand
came winding through the centuries
looking for you.
Your great-grandmother
polished the blue stones of your eyes
and invisible hands
passed them into my safekeeping.
For years
I carried your hidden face
in my pocket, like a dime,
like a tiny moon
for good luck.
~ Arthur Dawson
Rhonda, you have given me more than I can ever give you
in return. You have been a great friend to me in these past few months.
You have given me back what I thought I had lost ~ my faith in my body
and myself. You are truly an angel, and I thank you from the bottom
of my heart.
I wish for you a gentle labor and a peaceful birth.
And remember, when you feel you can't go on any longer,
when you wonder why you keep doing this over and over, that it WILL end,
it WILL stop, and you WILL triumph!
BABIES COME OUT!!!!
Millions of hugs, oceans of kisses, Stephen's mama,
Heather
If you have food and drink, now is the time to eat
and drink and be merry.
As I call the blessingway to a close, may the angels
watch over our now
absent Rhonda and her little girl. Peace to us all.
The candles will remain burning in this room until
Rhonda has her baby.
