Taking Charge of Your Fertility
Toni Weschler, MPH
TCOYF is the book which has allowed me to take absolute control of my fertility.  I read it after Women's Bodies... and found it so very empowering.  I can't describe how turned on and powerful I felt the first time we made love using FAM as our birth control.  To KNOW what is happening with your body and to predict the flow of your cycle is an amazingly powerful feeling.
When we got the book, DH was amazed at how big it was.  He couldn't fathom what could encompass such a simple concept (yeah, HE'S not the one doing it).
The last 50 pages or so were not all that applicable (Beyond Fertility:  Practical Benefits of Charting Your Cycle) but I loved the NINE color shots of cervical mucous, the numerous charts of cycles with troubleshooting and definitions.  The book was quite light on TTC and breastfeeding, but gave me enough to educate myself about my body and my cycle. The side effect of using this method is the ammo it give you should you need to walk into an OB's office.  You will probably be more knowledgeable about your body and women's bodies in general and their cycles than the OB.
